A mobile virus is similar to a computer virus that targets phone data or application/software installed in it.Virus attacks on mobile devices are no longer an exception or proof-of concept nowadays.
In total 40 mobile virus families and 300(+) mobile viruses have been identified.First identified in 2004.
Mobile virus are spread via three main resources Internet,Bluetooth,MMS. Bluetooth virus can be spread within distance of 10-30 m.It able to infect those devices whose bluetooth is enabled and visible for hacker.Internet virus comes from visiting malicious sites from mobile phones and downloading software from untrusted source.And MMS virus can send a copy of itself to all mobile users whose mobile numbers are available in the infected mobile phone's phone book.

"If you receive a phone call and your phone displays (XALAN) on the screen don't answer the call.END THE CALL IMMEDIATELY,if you answer the call ,your  phone will be infected by a virus.This virus will ERASE all IMEI and IMSI information from your phone and SIM card,which will make your phone unable to connect with the telephone network.You will have to buy new phone.Over 3 Million mobile phones being infected by that virus.

How to protect from Mobile Malware Attacks:

  1. Download or accept programs and contents (including ring tones,games,videos,photos) only from a trusted source.
  2. If mobile is equipped with Bluetooh,turn if OFF or set it to non-discoverable mode when it is not in use,
  3. Download and Install antivirus software for mobile device.
